3D Breakdown
Individual shapes of the piece were created in Illustrator. This made it easy to not only have a preview what the final product would look like, but also to import the vector based files directly into Maya.
Textures were built in Photoshop, and applied in Maya.
Layer-building, lighting, animating, and rendering all took place in Maya.
(Not seen here) Final color management, animated calligraphy, and title cards took place in After Effects.
